The widely- loved children's book from the great Maurice Sendak. In a recent obituary, Sendak was quoted as saying he recieved much fan mail from children, some of which he endeavoured to respond to presonally. He enjoyed one little boy's letter statingt he had enjoyed 'Where the wild things are' so much, Sendak sent the little boy an original drawing. Later, the boy'sd momther contacted Sendak to say that the boy had liked the drawing so much he had immediately eaten it. Sendak said it was the best compliment he ever received.
